To Kill A Man You Do Not Know

Amidst the stillness of a summer’s day
Painful memories below the surface remain
As step-children of racism seek to pray
The failing notes of a last post proclaim

Harry Patch (1898–2009) did give way
Veteran of the trenches a death proclaim
To kill a man and dare not say
Bitter rhetoric blood-bought refrain

To kill that man in the light of day
Torn, taut, sanity a bullet does claim
A war beheld with death croquet
A world that’s frail and dust blain

Over 15 million lost to thought today
Valley of bodies empty tombs stain
Reflection of an infantry milieu, fray
To kill for need in dusk and rain

At times it's hard to follow from line to line but I suspect it's the style u decided to write in, plus the requirement of the rhyme. Good job. Keep working hard. Peace.
