Poetry by Stephen A. Dantes

Poetry

I'll write until I blister and bleed sweat from Poetry
I’ll write

Til my mind expunge what’s left from misery
I’ll write

I’ll write until letters retire completely
I’ll write

Til my calloused thoughts are exploited beyond reality
I’ll write

I’ll write until I see hope resuscitate within the marrow of wantonness that explores the uncertainty within me
I’ll write

Til resilience replaces propensity and unties the fear of failure that so deeply ravages the sanctity of my sanity.
I’ll write

I'll write until the poor man's socio-cultural anatomy is penned completely and paper tells the greatest tale of a story not told with honesty.
I’ll write

Til time divorces history,
Til my tea goes cold, and my tears run dry
I’ll write,

Poetry.
