We've come a long way by Stephen Dantes

We've come a long way

From rainy days of running tears
To crushed bouquets of starry affairs
And windy roads dwindling to moonlit climes
Silhouetted promises in barren times

We’ve come a long way

Through ups and downs, trials and mistrials
Heartbreaks and headaches and languorous denials
Hard times when the tests were too great
Like writing an exam before being taught the lesson; it sealed our fate

We came, we saw, we conquered
We’ve come a long way

Reneata Dusauzay (Mar 2nd 2009): I liked it i think however that it could have continued and could have been broadened to a independence poem not necessarily our nation's but independence in general to coincide with the line we came we saw we conquered.
Overall a great piece as always Mr. Dantes

Naja Simeon (Mar 1st 2009): the poem is great bro. short and simple..very subtle but touching..even the meaning between the lines is somehow captivating.
