The Man in the Mirror
Yes,
That bastard that I see
A man in the mirror who looks like me
Who is he?
My eyes show me a picture of a man
A figure with hands like mine
And acts finicky
Intertwined with time and poise
An image enshrined in my soul as I gaze upon a visage that’s marred
A reflection of myself I presume
Or should I assume anything at all
Can this just be a poster on a glass wall?
Is this really me?
That face that I see, is it truly real?
I feel that this isn’t me looking straight into my own eyes
Questioning with reprise
But he does what I do
Mocks me gracefully or awkwardly
It’s like I move my hand and he moves his
I stand and he does too
Sit, and guess what, the bastard’s posterior hits rock bottom
Who is this dude that looks back at me a reflection in my mirror
On my bathroom wall as I stand half naked and confident?
That man that I see
Is it really me?
