Jesus and Me

What do I if today I die
Would that be the end of deceit and lie
Am I of death afraid to hold
Or is life for me yet to unfold
What do I if today I die
And face to face is Jesus and I

Am I ready for meet Him I shall
Is all with me well, unperturbed morale
Is truth for me an unwanted obligation
And life I know a bitter confrontation
Oh thanks to Stephie the pen I hold
With “Jesus and Me” a story be told

I forgot that I was on loan
Delayed the return of the body I own
A thought of sin intertwined my heart
My innocence dusted on life’s doormat
Did plea and beg to be treated just
Turned around betray another’s trust

As Jesus and Me stand face to face
My heart my mind gets out of place
For shame I feel is beyond compare
As He stands no words but stare and stare
The scum I am now more real
Heaven or hell an eternal deal

A stench from me disgust my nose
What have I become, who knows
My heart was stone to others’ pain
Ruthless cold butchered slain
Cared not for world but my own sake
Cause life I knew was give and take

Oh Stephie what have I become
That Jesus cried and hid the sun
Why was life such a scorn
And why yours too, sweet life was torn
My place unsure but justice deserved
Poor soul a judgement reserved

The monster I become I now denounce
Save me Jesus another chance
No more a delight in sin
No more a fight within
So much stain crimson red
A life lived being dead

Darkness plot painfully cruel
Innocence hidden debtor’s accrual
Past an umbrage, memory-cast linger near
Future mysterious life a fear
It is well with my soul I wanna say
Live with Christ unending day

This is the story of “Jesus and Me”
One not known to any
I cry to Him both day and night
In pain and love so contrite
Thanks to Stephie for this Hindsight
Sin, I can now uncaringly disinvite

Walk oh Jesus me; life’s detainee
Break the shackles make me free
